The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enforced in 2018 requires data controllers to make personal data privacy a fundamental consideration of data processing throughout the data lifecycle – from capture to destruction. Under GDPR, personal data is any information through which an individual can be directly or indirectly identified.
