What is BaccS?

BaccS is a business accounting solution designed to help you manage your business tasks.

By tracking the status of a translation job from start to finish, BaccS ensures you effectively organize projects, take care of accounting tasks, report on your business performance and have transparency across your company.

How many versions of BaccS are available?

To provide our customers with the highest level of flexibility, there are four different versions of BaccS available to align with customers’ specific needs and requirements — BaccS Desktop, BaccS Team, BaccS Team Online and BaccS Lite.

What is the difference between each version of BaccS?

BaccS Desktop, BaccS Team and BaccS Team Online facilitate smooth collaboration between client, project manager and vendors.

BaccS Lite is a scaled down version and therefore a perfect solution for freelance translators.

Will BaccS work with SDL Trados Studio and SDL Trados GroupShare?

BaccS Desktop, BaccS Team and BaccS Team Online can integrate easily with SDL Trados Studio and SDL Trados GroupShare.

BaccS Lite is available as a plug-in for SDL Trados Studio only.

Which versions of SDL Trados Studio and SDL Trados GroupShare support BaccS?

BaccS works with SDL Trados Studio 2019 and SDL Trados GroupShare 2017.

Do all versions of BaccS come with the plug-in connector?

The BaccS plug-in is for SDL Trados Studio only and this makes it possible to create quotes, invoices and jobs starting from Studio.

BaccS Desktop, BaccS Team and BaccS Team Online include the BaccS plug-in connector. As BaccS Lite works directly within SDL Trados Studio, the BaccS plug-in connector is not required.

Which languages are available for the BaccS user interface?

BaccS Desktop, BaccS Team and BaccS Team Online are available in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Polish and Russian.

The BaccS Lite is currently only available in English.

How secure is the data held within BaccS?

All information held in BaccS, e.g. customer price lists, is stored securely to ensure your data remains private and confidential. The security system built into BaccS allows administrators to assign roles with specific permissions to individual users and groups of users.

What levels of support are offered for BaccS?

Customers using BaccS Lite will be offered supported via the SDL Community.

BaccS Desktop, BaccS Team and BaccS Team Online customers will be offered additional supported through SDL’s Support teams in the same way we support our other SDL products with a Support and Maintenance Agreement (SMA). To access Support, click here.

What are the system requirements for BaccS?

BaccS supports Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

To run BaccS, you need a computer with OS Windows and .NET Framework 4.7 installed.

As a minimum requirement, we recommend a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768.

I am an existing BaccS user. Will I still be able to use it?

Existing BaccS customers will be offered a free upgrade to the next two versions of BaccS, starting with Version 5.

Customers will be offered free Support and Maintenance for as long as Version 5 remains the latest release.

Is a trial version of BaccS available?

A trial version of BaccS Lite is available which offers a limited number of quotes and/or invoices. To continue using BaccS Lite beyond the limit, you will need to purchase a BaccS Lite license.

Trials of BaccS Desktop and both BaccS Team versions can be provided on request.

How do I purchase BaccS?

If you are an LSP or a corporate customer, please contact your local sales representative to discuss the best option for your business.

If you are freelance translator, BaccS can be purchased through the online shop.
