What To Expect At An SDL Trados Roadshow

The SDL Trados Roadshow is coming to you

Last autumn we held our most popular SDL Trados Roadshows ever! During this series of Roadshows, we welcomed over 1700 attendees across 22 locations providing an exclusive first look at our new products SDL Trados Studio 2017 and MultiTerm 2017.

Time goes quick and at SDL we are now busy preparing to visit another 13 cities for the Spring Roadshows, where we will explain our latest products in more detail and provide even more free training on the new features!

So what you can expect from the day?

It’s been a few months now since the launch of Studio 2017 and the innovative upLIFT and AdaptiveMTfeatures, so clearly there have a been quite a few questions and user feedback. We want to take the opportunity to answer the most pressing questions and give you a deeper insight.

With the exciting launch of SDL Trados GroupShare 2017 just behind us in February, we will also be showing how a wealth of powerful new features, including the new Project Management Dashboard, makes everyday life simpler and easier for a Project Manager.

After reading your feedback, we felt it was important to keep product-specific sessions, with 85% of attendees highlighting this as the main reason for attending. One attendee mentioned the importance of developing their product knowledge and skills – “As a translator, I feel I have to be updated with modern technology to help me to improve my job performance."

We have also listened to your feedback from our post-event survey, where you asked us to keep the free training sessions. One attendee said “it was an excellent event and I enjoyed the networking as well as the training sessions." So it’s clear to us you appreciate the afternoon of training.I’m happy to confirm we will be staying with the same format as the last series of Roadshows, which means you will receive a full afternoon of free training by an SDL product expert to suit both Project Managers and Translators alike.

Nearly 50% of our attendees at the last Roadshow told us they attended for the networking opportunities. This year, I’m sure you will be pleased to hear there will be more chances to network! We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear about how great an opportunity the roadshows are to meet your SDL contacts and extend your network of translation professionals. Therefore, we have extended coffee breaks and lunch to give you lots more time to meet your colleagues and clients!

To summarize, your day at an SDL Trados Roadshow will include:

  • A short introduction to the new SDL brand and what does it mean for you?
  • Industry topic: man vs machine, or can we work together?
  • Afternoon of free product training for both Project Managers and Translators
  • More networking opportunities – extended coffee breaks and lunch
  • 3 product presentations
  • Your chance to take part in a debate and panel discussion.
